Three Benefits of Knowledge: A Powerful Tool That Can Change Your Life

I’ve heard that knowledge is power, but there are even more benefits of knowledge.

From the beginning of time, knowledge has been a great tool to advance generations, conquer countries,  gain more power and create unimaginable possibilities!

Servants were purposely excluded from conversations with their bosses for fear that they would “know too much” and conspire against them. Masters deprived their slaves the opportunity to learn how to read and write to keep them from rebelling.

At the same time, the pursuit of knowledge has allowed our society to advance in incredible ways. The greatest inventions of all times have been based on securing, embracing and applying knowledge. Take for example, the invention of the first plane. It took the Wright brothers many trials and accumulation of data to finally make it to that first historic launch.

In my journey to become a pilot, I have realized the importance of knowledge more than ever before. You see, to command an aircraft, you must not only possess the ability to embrace new principles that defy everything you have learned on the ground, but also the skill to synthesize them to make the right decisions as you fly. My discovery of the fascinating principles of aviation was my muse to ponder the benefits of knowledge.

I believe one of the biggest benefits of knowledge is that once you learn something, no one can take it away from you. I believe that knowledge is the most precious gift anyone can possess.

I believe that knowledge is….

An equalizer

With adequate knowledge and training, you can be in any situation and participate in any conversation to add value. Without it, you might be a deer in the headlights. If there’s a topic you love, invest time learning about it. You will feel confident when interacting with others and they will respect you.

A great accelerator

Seek knowledge to advance your life, business and career. Why take 10 years to experience something when you can learn from others that have gone through those experiences before? Acquire knowledge by reading, listening to audio books, researching on the internet and talking to subject matter experts. It is available to you if you want it. It will accelerate your life in ways you never imagine. Start today!

A legacy generator

The more you share your knowledge, the more you retain it and it becomes part of who you are. The most genuine gesture from one human being to another is the transfer of knowledge. It is the best way to leave a legacy for future generations. You can share it through conversations, training others, writing books or capturing your intellectual property on videos. Knowledge is shareable! And that’s one of the most important benefits of knowledge.

Is there something that you want to explore but fear has stopped you from finding out more? Is there something holding you back and keeping you from expressing your full potential? Is there a subject you are passionate about, but you have not yet taken time to learn more?

Imagine all the possibilities of your newly acquired knowledge and the benefits you will receive, the connections you will make, the people you will meet, the respect, the advancement of your career, the new adventures you will embark on…all due to knowledge. There are even more benefits of knowledge you are sure to discover on your own!

Take your next adventure, soak in every piece of information you can get, share with others and make your life amazing! All you need is knowledge to make it happen!
