I invited 26 Latinas to participate in this project. Being an author of six books (this is my 7th one) has changed my life and I wanted to create a vehicle that would allow other Latinas to elevate to authorship. Today’s Inspired Latina Volume I came out of that inspiration. 2. Why did you think this is book important in today’s world? I believe this book is very important for a lot of reasons: 1) It allows Latinas to open up their hearts and share their stories for the very first time to inspire the community, 2) It creates a legacy for many years to come, 3) It allows the reader to get motivated to share their own stories and 4) It creates a movement of positivity. Together we can achieve all of our dreams. 3. What is your inspiration when you wrote your part in this book? I wrote the introduction and I am the publisher of this book. My inspiration was to elevate others to the amazing world of authorship. It has become so much bigger than I dreamed of. We had over 600 guests at the official book launch and have been featured on many media outlets including INC Magazine (http://www.inc.com/marla-tabaka/26-inspirational-quotes-from-successful-latina-entrepreneurs.html?cid=sf01001). We will also be launching in New York City in August and later in California. 4. You mentioned on the website that “the single most beautiful gift you can give others is your positive attitude.” Why positive attitude? Positive attitude is a beautiful gift to others because it creates energy that is contagious. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can definitely control how we react. 5. As a successful career woman, how did you discover your passion and what did you to make it happen? I discovered my passion by listening to my heart and paying attention to what made me happy. I was curious and relentless in finding my passion (asking questions, wrote on my journal, recording my experiences, meditated to discover what fulfilled me) and today I live it everyday. 6. What keeps you motivated and inspired? Making others happy, serving others makes me so inspired. I live to serve others. It is the motivation that never stops. 7. Readers especially women will surely be empowered when they buy this book. How did this book empower you? Reading the stories touched me. It made me realize that you can overcome the challenges with love and a positive attitude. I truly admire all the amazing women in this book. This is the very first time that they share their stories, expect one of them who had written a book a couple of years ago. 8. How can women be happy both in their personal and professional life? Is there a secret or formula of achieving this? I believe that that the formula is to find your passion, monetize your passion and serve others. To me, this has been the secret to my success both personally and professionally. 9. Can women have it all? Yes, they can, just not all at the same time. 10. What advice do you give women about achieving their dreams and making it a reality? Find your passion, find a way to monetize your passion and serve others. The compound effect of your daily activities will lead to success. 11. Lastly, we feel this would be a the perfect birthday present for women or various holidays. Where can we buy it? Yes, absolutely. They can buy it at www.todayslatina.com or www.amazon.com or with each individual contributing author.
